Nothing makes me happier than being a part of a gorgeous wedding, and in the process, getting to know a beautiful couple. When Revathi and Jensen approached me to plan their wedding and shared their ideas with me, I was beyond thrilled! They wanted their wedding to take place primarily outdoors as they both absolutely love nature! After visiting several venues, Antrim 1844 was the clear winner as it fit their style in every way possible! The best part was that they could hold each part of their day in various spaces within the property so that guests received the full Antrim experience. I still remember the day they finalized their decision on having their wedding at Antrim – the three of us had gone to grab a bite to eat after visiting a couple of venues. We all sat down at the table with great anticipation as each of us knew a decision had been made. The moment Jensen said, “Antrim!” we all cheered and treated ourselves to some ice cream! It was one of those special couple-planner moments. 🙂

We kicked off their wedding weekend with a fun-filled evening picnic at the Carroll County Farm Museum to welcome all of their out of town guests.

The picnic was low key and allowed for Revathi and Jensen to spend quality time with their guests. Once everything was wrapped up from the picnic, we realized August 17, 2013 had finally arrived! It was Wedding Day! We started Revathi and Jensen’s wedding day early in the morning in one of the gorgeous guest houses on the Antrim 1844 property. Revathi and her bridesmaids got dolled up in their crisp silk sarees, while the groomsmen adjusted their bow ties and Jensen became well acquainted with walking around in a dhoti.

Revathi and Jensen chose to go with an open mandap as their ceremony was going to be held outdoors, and boy am I glad they did! The hanging marigolds and red draping complimented the greenery that surrounded them and created the perfect setting for a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an outdoor Social Hour – complete with lawn games. Not only were the lawn games a fun addition to the day, they were hand-made by our bride and groom!

Once guests had the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy themselves and cool down with some ice cold beverages (read, Limca and Thums Up!), we began the evening in the Glass Pavilion at Antrim. Revathi and Jensen were absolutely adorable during their first dance!

How many of you noticed this detail on the cake? Jensen was very involved with the planning of the wedding and kept up with each and every detail. As a special thank you to him, Revathi wanted to make sure there was at least one element of the day that would be a complete surprise for Jensen. Being a huge fan of Star Trek, there could not have been a better surprise than Mr. Picard peeking out of their wedding cake. You should have seen the expression on his face the first time he saw the cake! He absolutely loved it!

Revathi and Jensen’s reception continued on the tented Croquette Lawn at Antrim. Guests enjoyed a delicious South Indian meal and heartfelt speeches by those closest to Revathi and Jensen. The tent was adorned with lights and draping while the dinner tables were set beautifully and finished with a candle-lit lantern surrounded by a lush flower arrangement in the center. After dinner, guests were invited back into the Glass Pavilion to dance the rest of the night away!
